The Argentinian newspaper Lavanguardia has just published (opens in a new window)an interview with Professor Andreas Hess from UCD's School of Sociology.
The interview was conducted in the context of the Spanish translation and publication of Harvard political theorist Judith Shklar's lectures on political obligation, which Andreas Hess and Samantha Ashenden edited and (opens in a new window)published originally with Yale University Press in 2019. The interview covers a range of topics, such as: Why reading Shklar on political obligation now? How can Shklar's lectures be situated vis-a-vis the trajectory of her own work and that of others like John Rawls, Michael Walzer, Isaiah Berlin and Norberto Bobbio? What is so unique about Shklar's understanding of political psychology?
